There has been a change of hands at the Barrington, I have never stayed in the rooms there but have used the bar a lot! It has been redecorated by the new owner, giving it a brighter look to the inside! With the addition for a new pool table, a juke box and a games machine I'm sure the Barrington will be as popular as ever! This will be well received at our next work gathering. I'm a huge fan of the staff there they do a great job of making you feel welcome.

Sadly hotel didn't live up to expectations, staff were friendly, but didn't seem to know much about running a hotel. Rooms very tired and need a deep clean and a revamp. Comfortable bed, but the smoking area of the pub gets pretty noisy, which is right by the hotel rooms. And some very unsavoury pub customers! Also the broadband was broken, with very limited mobile signal, so difficult to get any work done.

The pub bit is ok with a good selection of beers, the place could do with a deep clean. Hotel bit is very average.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at The Barrington Arms, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The food was delicious, with a diverse menu that caters to all tastes. Very friendly, clean rooms lovely breakfast. Hotel needs a bit of TLC but this is a budget hotel. Some rooms are above the pub. You can basically hear everything that happens in the pub till it closes at 1pm. If you are looking for a bit of peace and quiet and sleep when the pub is open ask for a room at the back of hotel.

Popped into the hotel on a pub tour to Faringdon. Welcoming space, friendly staff, and a great choice of beverages. Had a lovely time. Will definitely be back.

Shriwenham is not the place you go to when you want to have party night out. But the Barrington Arms pub is a lovely place to be. If you take your time, talk to people and just listen, you get wonderful stories from lives of lovely people. The hotel is nice, clean and quiet. Wonderful staff. Food and beer is nice and affordable. Do not miss a short stop at the church on the other side of the road. It is literally a moment of being surrounded by history.

Stayed here for 1 night for a business event nearby. Glad I did. The room was really nice. Everything seemed new and it was nice and warm and really quiet. Plenty of space. Lady who checked me in was pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was buffet/help yourself which was fine. Everything that you'd need. Would definitely recommend. I thought the overall price for B+B was good value. Location is great too. Right on the bus route between Swindon and Oxford and walking distance to other places nearby.

Wonderful Sunday roast, beautiful roasties, yummy veg and the extra bonus of a delicious cauliflower cheese. Amazing meal, saved me the hassle of cooking it. Friendly helpful staff, always Thank you.

We visited this place for lunch which felt like entering a dungeon. Lights were off, dark walls and greasy-sticky tables maybe a good place for Halloween. Not tricking or treating here for the prices are premium. Service lack of detail, dirty tea-pots and clearly unwelcoming feel to those not familiar. Nonetheless, we not looking for hearty receptions but hearty meals only to leave with a highly priced meal without value.

What a lovely bar, a lovely feeling country hotel. What more do you need amazing staff, lovely customers, a great selection of drinks and proper pub food at a good price. I love sitting by the open fire and having a pint on a cold winter's evening, although I also love their great beer garden and Sunday BBQs. If you you are passing, swing in and thank me later :). Quiz on a tues is worth a night out and would highly recommend sat morning breakfast

Attended a family wedding at the weekend, we were part of a large group and all the staff were amazing. Nothing was too much trouble and they looked after us all brilliantly. Food was wonderful, they catered for everyone and it was all delicious. Bedrooms were fabulous too. Thank you to Rob and his team for helping to make our weekend perfect, we'll definitely be back!

We attended a family wedding, we didn’t stay however other family members did and they were more than happy with the rooms and the service they received. We are vegans and during the wedding service and even the days surrounded we were well looked after and had some lovely choices of food which was delicious. We also have a young baby and the staff were always on hand to help if we needed anything. Nothing was too much. Everyone was so helpful and the atmosphere was lovely. We will definitely visit again and would stay over next time.

Attended a family wedding for the weekend and we had the best experience. We were part of a large group and the bar & waiting staff couldn’t do enough to for us.. every bit of food we had was outstanding, rooms were fabulous! Here on a work stay, Manager was great and very welcoming. Room I stayed in was good but shower was not great as pulsed quite a bit and took a while to warm up. Food was great entertainment good and overall good experience.
